Anti- Fragile Course

On Saturday 15th July, we are running an Anti-Fragile Course based around teaching the basics of using weights to build strength and confidence as we age.

Over the 3 hours you will learn the basics of lifting safely and effectively. The do’s and do not’s. Busting myths about strength training and you will leave knowing you are much stronger than you thought you were.

You will receive a 4 week training program after you leave that will be based around your own level of training and needs. Along with the opportunity to continue with your strength journey with our tailored coaching packages.

The course will be run by Samantha Charlwood, British Champion Powerlifter and Sports Therapist with over 20 years experience as a clinician.

Strength is an integral part of body health.

As therapists it is our job to give you the information and confidence to include strength as part of your exercise program.

Whether you are a runner looking to improve performance, an office worker looking to find a different way to unwind…or simply are a beginner and have no idea where to start…we are here for you.

We specialise in training complete beginners and giving them the tools to train.

We offer one-off sessions as a starting place or refresher. Alternatively, we can do 6 week block training programs for those who want a bit more regular help. We also have an Anti-Fragile Course available…see below for details.

We also integrate it as part of our sports therapy sessions.

Strength Training for Runners

On Saturday 14th January we are putting on a course specifically for runners to improve strength.

Whilst it may seem counter-intuitive to lay down muscle as a runner wanting to get quicker, having muscles that are strong and up to the task will improve running times and reduce injury risk over time.

The course will cover the 3 compound lifts squat, bench and deadlift, along with complimentary accessories and skills for runners to improve strength whilst maintaining range of motion and agility. You will receive a 4 week training program at the end of the course based on your own needs.

Numbers are extremely limited to ensure a high level of individual attention.

The course will be run by Samantha Charlwood, Sports therapist and Powerlifter, who competes nationally in powerlifting and currently holds a British record in bench press, took silver in the British Masters Championships and holds 2 South West records.
