Sports massage at Active Potential Therapy has been really good for helping me recover from games and training sessions. Especially at the start of the week, it’s great just to come in and relieve my muscles – it helps me get as much benefit out of my training as possible.

Any niggles will affect my training, the exercises I do, how much I can lift, etc. In turn this will affect my performance, so sports massage isn’t just helpful for preventing injuries, but also for easing niggles and tightness.

My treatments with Katie have been so beneficial. As a sportsperson, it’s so important to have a therapist who gets deep into the muscles. Katie knows what she’s doing and is really good at it.

Everyone at Active Potential Therapy is really friendly too – the customer service is really good and it’s so nice to have a chat each time I come in!

This summer I’ll be playing a lot of rugby 7’s, and if I play well, hopefully it’ll be a knock on the door to the England team, which is my main goal. I’m looking forward to carrying on with my treatments alongside training and games.

I met Elaine and instantly she has a calming way with her velvety voice. But then she gets to work and she’s a powerhouse! The strength, knowledge and energy… Continue Reading

I had extreme sciatica for more than six months, to the extent that I was having involuntary muscle spasms while playing competitive tennis and table tennis. A local physio therapist said that the sciatica was due to my age (72), and that I should drop my kick serve at tennis as it was contributing to my… Continue Reading

A busy training programme can’t be without proactive injury prevention treatment and general all over body maintenance. That’s why my schedule includes a visit to see Sam Cox and her team at Active Potential. Since competing in the ITU Triathlon World Championships in Cozumel, Mexico in September, my winter training programme saw no rest as… Continue Reading

As a runner and triathlete of over 30 years, and triathlon coach, I am very aware of the benefits of sports therapy and deep tissue massage. I started to see Phil at Active Potential Therapy in 2015, during the build-up towards my representation of Great Britain at the Chicago World Triathlon Age group Championships. Phil… Continue Reading
